What is this event? Who's coming? What do you do? What's the point? Why should you come?
This event is a LAN party!! The event is open to the community, and we expect people from all over Ottawa, but for the most
part we expect students of Ottawa U. Attendees bring their computers to a
central location and hook up to a Local Area Network
for some lag free gaming. The event is being held to promote the University club Campus Interactive,
who "bring together the resources and skills of students by promoting communication, discussion, and information technology regarding the latest computing trends."
But if you were here last year, you know all that. Get to the details already!
If you still need more reasons: you should come because this year we are going bigger and better with a new venue, better seating,
more available seats and a strong background of experience organizing this kind of event. Things should be smoother, the network should be faster, and we will be
focused on ensuring that you as a gamer get the most out of your time at
Lanopolis 4.0

The LAN will take place right on the Ottawa U campus in the Tabaret (TBT) building, Room 112 (orange building on map).
You can drop off and unload your gear from the metered parking lot by the Tabaret lawn or directly in front of Tabaret entrance, following the
blue path highlighted in the map above (accessible via Seraphin-Marion). Please make note of the one-way streets (Wilbrod and Stewart).
Note that parking in the front area of Tabaret should be 10 minutes maximum, for drop-off purposes only.
There are also parking lots (B and C) available near Tabaret (behind Hagen Hall), accessible via Cumberland St. or Stewart St.
If you happen to be taking the bus, you can get off right at Tabaret Hall from the Laurier Transitway stop, accessible from any downtown OC Transpo route.

If you are going to make the trek out to game with us there are a few things you shouldn't forget.
This is a BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) event so you need to be prepared. This handy list will give you an idea of what you will need to bring.

- With network card, keyboard, mouse, mousepad, and power cable(!)
- With cables
- You only get ONE plug so bring a power bar!
- Minimum 25 feet is best. Don't have one? See special note below.
- No speakers allowed (for sanity reasons). An extension if you need it.
- Preinstall! Anything goes, check the schedule for MASSIVE GAMES!
- For legal purposes
- For raffles and snacks
