Thread had to be made, what (constructive) things do you have to say about improving Lanopolis for next year?

Personally, I think if the tournament is scheduled for, let's say, 4pm, I think it should start at 4pm and end within a reasonable time period. I understand some tournaments overlapped and it was sort of a necessity, but I knew one guy who was still waiting for DotA and SSBB to finish by about 12pm Sunday afternoon, and they had started the day before.

The simplest answer to this is... to many tournaments, im sure they know about your frustration.. cuz it happen to me too, they had to cancel the DDR tournament (lack of equipment) & the WIC tourney (not enough people & we couldn't wait more, in the end i would have won by default... which sucks hard.. LOL).

Delays may have been affected by the fact that they lost everything the day before the LAN...

gj on still getting most if not all tourneys in somehow.

Make images of your servers! Lol, then if they crash, you can revert to your backups.

+1 on the tournament thing. The tournaments were falling behind pretty badly.

I remember telling my buds that you guys should probably post what you just said on the mic on the large projector. Some of the announcements went while tournaments were going and it's not like I'd take off my headphones to hear what you're saying in the middle of a fight.

NoMercy makes a good point.

Can we please NOT do draws during tournaments? It's kind of awkward to play Left4Dead and try listening to ticket numbers and fighting off a horde because the spawn door opened itself automatically :S

Good point guys, we tried our best to not overlap anything since all our data was lost during the night before it started. Good Luck eh?. When we plan to do the next LAN, we can try and make it a community thing, so many of you guys could help out, would be best to do that Smile

All the ideas we got could help us make it even a better LAN Party, I agree about placing captions while talking on the big screen, and I agree about the overlaps. We will see what we could do at our end!
